Spark Design & Innovation is a design studio in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. With more than 25 years of expertise and 30+ designers and engineers, Spark has worked on a long line of recognizable products. I joined the team as a Design Engineer intern and worked on diverse projects, ranging from innovation, ideation, prototyping, concept design and foremost embodiment design. Spark challenged me in understanding the novel technologies that go into their products, but also helped me create a deeper understanding of how to translate industrial design choices into carefully engineered parts.

My internship at Spark design & innovation was a mutual learning experience. I managed to bring my Green legislation experience into the company, helping them develop a strategy for the EU Green Deal and the upcoming regulations that influence a wide range of design decisions, helping Spark serve their clients better by being one step ahead in green design.
